How to check the tandem condition of the trailer axle？
It is inevitable that the vehicle will not start or run out of fuel when going out, so how to use the trailer axle correctly and how to check the condition of the trailer axle is an indispensable question. Today we bring the seven-step inspection method.
1. Stop on a level surface. Connect the trailer tongue to the hook of the vehicle. If necessary, lower the trailer jack bracket to level the trailer.
2. Tie the fishing pendant to the end of the rope. Tie the string to the bottom thread of the vehicle trailer hitch ball to allow the fishing sinker to hang down. The twine should hang directly below the center of the hook ball coupler on the trailer tongue. This plumb line will become the reference point of the trailer tongue.
3. If necessary, remove the front axle hub cap of the trailer and connect the axle extension pipe to the main shaft at the center of the left and right front wheels.
4. Measure and record the distance between the plumb line and each axis extension tube. Measure to the tip of each tube.
5. Connect the shaft extension tube to the main shaft in the center of the rear wheel. Measure and record the distance between the front and rear axles on both sides of the trailer. Measure from the center of the extension tube.
6. Compare the measured values from the plumb line to the left and right sides of the front axle. If the distance between each other exceeds the manufacturer's specifications, the front axle may need to be adjusted. If you do not have a user manual, make sure that the deviation between the left and right sides of the front axle is less than 1/8 inch.
7. Compare the measured values between the front and rear axles on the right and left. If the deviation of each distance exceeds the manufacturer's specifications, the rear axle may need to be adjusted relative to the front axle. If you don't have a manual, make sure the deviation is less than 1/8 inch.
Through the above inspection methods, you can diagnose whether your trailer axle series connection is normal, and even whether the trailer axle is faulty. If the trailer axle is damaged, you may need to replace it. Haiwei is your good choice!
